Air Sealing Made Easy

AeroSeal is the only method to reach any level of air tightness, the first time, every time.

We connect our patented technology to your home via a modified blower to pressurize and distribute the sealing formula.

The pressure carries our non-toxic, water-based formula throughout the home and effectively seals any leak by using the very air that is leaking out of the home, thereby finding any leak point; visible or not.

Have peace of mind monitoring the seal and seeing real-time result. You’ll even get a certificate of completion showing the before and after results.

Step 1

Prep & Setup

Prep the area by covering any openings that won’t be sealed.  This includes taping or covering any designed openings or finished horizontal surfaces within the space.  Emitters are then set up throughout the area to be air sealed.  The AeroSeal Connect system is then set up.  It includes a blower door, nozzle stations, and hoses, a fan with lay-flat tubing, and the master control unit.

Step 2

Pressurize & Apply

Using a blower door, the space is pressurized.  After that, a computer controls the entire process including the temperature, pressure, humidity, and distribution of sealeant within the space.

Step 3

Seal & Monitor

With the AeroSeal Connect system, you see results in real-time.  You have complete control over your desired level of airtightness and can achieve any level required.  At the end of the process, a final blower door test is run to verify the air-sealing results.  AeroSeal then provides a certificate of Completion that shows pre and post leakage.

Step 4

Clean Up

After the AeroSeal air sealing is complete, work can resume in the space within 30 minutes.  At that time, clean up of all equipment and removal of all tape and coverings can occur.

Frequent Questions

u

How Does AeroSeal Work?

AeroBarrier is an interior-applied air sealing system that seals building envelope leaks up to 1/2″. The waterborne sealant is aerosolized and injected into a pressurized home. The sealant is self-guided to the edges of visible and invisible leaks to create a seal by accumulating across the leak surface. The sealant is applied within 60-90 minutes and dries quickly, before system cleanup is complete. This ensures construction can resume shortly after the process is complete with little to no impact on standard construction schedules. The AeroBarrier system measures envelope leakage in real-time, enabling the system to dial-in specific air leakage requirements with precision and guarantee the results.

u

Is Your Formula Safe?

Our formula is a water-soluble organic compound and is proven safe. The sealant is ultra-low VOC and because it is inert there is no chemical reaction needed to form a seal meaning there is no off-gassing. With more than 150,000 projects sealed to date, we’ve helped hospitals, surgery centers, schools, and public buildings make sure their air is clean, healthy and comfortable – and saved them energy and money in the process.

In fact, our sealant is GreenGuard Gold Certified, meeting the stricter certification requirements used in schools and healthcare facilities

u

How Is Leakage Measured?

The AeroSeal system uses a modified blower door to measure envelope leakage during the process. The blower door is calibrated to meet ASTM Standard E779, E1554, CGSB-149.10-M86, EN 13829, ATTMA Technical Standard 1, NFPA 2001, RESNET and USACE.

u

What Size Leaks Will This Seal?

The AeroBarrier system uses a modified blower door to measure envelope leakage during the process. The blower door is calibrated to meet ASTM Standard E779, E1554, CGSB-149.10-M86, EN 13829, ATTMA Technical Standard 1, NFPA 2001, RESNET and USACE.

u

How Large Of A Space Can This Be used?

AeroBarrier has been used in apartments as small as 500 sq ft and in homes over 10,000 sq ft. As long as the space can be pressurized, it can typically be sealed. Additional blower doors can be added to increase the pressure in larger spaces.

u

How Tight Can Aeroseal Actually Seal?

AeroBarrier has sealed houses to as low as 0.19 ACH50. But the value is in the system’s ability to allow builders to seal a home to as tight as it is designed for. AeroBarrier can meet any IECC, Passive House, LEED, Well Standard, ENERGY STAR or Net Zero requirement.
